One year with morgan+co
Today we celebrate one year of morgan+co BEAUTY LOUNGE!
I know I am not alone when I say that I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and feel blessed every day when I come to work.
How did morgan+co BEAUTY LOUNGE come to life? So glad you asked!!
I believe it’s important to remember how we got to where we are in life and to honor the ups and downs of our journey.
As I reflect on the journey that led me to where I’m at today, I remember myself lost and unsure of what was next for me in early 2021. I was working in my salon suite and although I loved what I did; I didn’t love HOW I was doing it. I was isolated, became stagnant, and my reach to impact others was limited. After all we were not created to do life alone.
I will never forget the moment the Lord told me to surrender 15years of hard work so he could show me what he had next for me. Looking back, I now see how he was been preparing me for that moment. He wanted me to trust in him and that required an action step on my part. I didn’t know if I was walking away from the beauty industry altogether, if I was making a career change, or staying home with my kids. I was nervous, scared, defeated and unsure BUT GOD. It’s often when you’re at your breaking point that you find your breakthrough!
Not knowing what was next, i gifted my clientele to my friends and trusted stylists; Lesley & McKenzie as I took time for myself and my family. I had an unexplainable peace that only comes from the Lord while I waited on his plans to be revealed.
After several months of stepping out from behind the chair, the doors opened and his calling on my life was revealed in the most perfect way. While Lesley and McKenzie were rocking in the salon suite, i was able to listen to the Lord and truly focus on what morgan+co BEAUTY LOUNGE was going to be for our community. I could reflect on my industry experiences, which guided me to determine what was going to set us apart. This time allowed me to put thought into every detail in creating a beautiful environment for our stylists to grow and thrive and our guests to escape and have an exceptional experience where they are part of our morgan+co community. Every step of the way, my husband Andrew was by my side, encouraging and cheering me on. His support and prayers made this all possible!
This first year has shown me that there is a difference between a career and a calling, a career being for yourself, and a calling has a bigger purpose to bless others. It became clear, my journey was no longer about me. Today, we have an incredible team of selfless women that are united on our mission to be a light in the life of others. They recognize the opportunity they have to impact others each day. They recognize the environment we can all create when we focus on encouragement, grace, and love. We have grown as individuals; we have grown as a team and we know together our impact is bigger and better!
